The Campus West team share their highlights of 2021
It's been a strange old year, with many challenges thrown at us along the way. There have been plenty of highs though so we thought we'd share our best Campus West moments of 2021 with you.
Mark, General Manager
It was a great pleasure and relief we could actually put on the Panto despite our Director's broken ankle! Poor Jonas broke his foot on opening night, and as he also played the part of King Penniless, we had to quickly write the character out of the production. Well, the show must go on...!
Geoff, Visitor Services Manager
The highlight for me is always playing the big man in Santa’s Grotto at Soft Play City. It’s a joy to see so many kids faces filled with wonder at meeting Santa.
The day of the Aston Martin private screening of ‘No Time To Die’ will always stay in my mind as being the perfect day. It was great weather with clear blue skies. Seeing so many valuable and iconic Bond cars lined up in our car park was a very proud moment!
Steve, Duty Manager
A magical few seconds when I was fortunate to usher the Pantomime-watching audience behaviours for safety reasons. The children were excitable and shouting during the show – the atmosphere electric! A short distance away, I noticed a mother with her young son whose happy beaming face and interaction was a sight to treasure. It was a special moment I’d waited two years for. Then the mother and I exchanged glances, both delighted. Such a brief moment, but the memory will stay with me for a very long time!

Returning to Campus West in September. I'd really missed everyone and it was great to be able to chat and catch up with all of the team.
Paul, Projectionist
It has just been great to see old customers returning and new ones finding us as we've rolled out a great eclectic mix for everyone on the Big Screen. From the most long-anticipated James Bond release ever, to the return of Live (via satellite) Theatre events, to special screenings like 'The Doors' live in concert from 1968, to showing classic movies like 'The Maltese Falcon' and 'It's A Wonderful Life'. Some brilliant escapism that we've all much needed and something for everyone to enjoy!
Joanna, Marketing
It was probably climbing up onto the roof (I like to think, James Bond-style...!) to get photos at the Aston Martin car meet - a private event for members to watch the latest Bond film. Such a spectacular sight with over 150 Aston Martins - the car of James Bond - displayed in our car park! And 'No Time To Die' was definitely worth the wait.
There were many other film highlights. I like a good weepie so the National Theatre's 'Romeo & Juliet' and Spielberg's 'West Side Story' certainly did the trick! Both stunning and beautiful films.
